We are delighted to bring you this range of soft leather puppy collars that are handmade to order for us by a family run saddlery in England. The softest, most durable leather is used for the outside and each collar is backed on the inside with soft supple calves leather, making these collars ideal for delicate puppy necks.
They are available in a range of sizes to suit your growing puppy and come in a variety of great colour choices. The puppy collars are all lined with cream soft leather.
Please note these collars are 1/2″ wide so that they are not too heavy or wide for the puppy’s neck. You can also buy a matching 3ft lead which will be 5/8″ in width.
Also suitable for small or toy breeds.

Why choose a saddlery-made puppy collar?
Most puppy collars are nylon or cheap leather. This collar is made in an English saddlery using the same traditional techniques applied to all our adult collars — just in the softest, lightest leather available. It is gentle enough that most puppies barely notice they are wearing it, which makes the transition to collar-wearing far easier.
Is a leather collar safe for puppies?
Yes — this collar is specifically designed for young dogs. The soft cowhide is gentle on developing skin and coats, with no rough edges or stiff sections. Trusted by breeders and new puppy owners across the UK.
What age can a puppy wear this collar?
Most puppies can start wearing a collar from around 8 weeks. This collar is designed to be the very first collar a puppy wears — lightweight enough for them to get comfortable without stress or irritation.
What size puppies is this suitable for?
Puppies and smaller dogs with finer, more delicate necks. As your dog grows into a medium or larger breed, move up to our soft padded small dog collar or adult padded leather collar range.
How do I measure my puppy?
Measure the circumference of the neck where the collar will sit. Order to that exact size. The collar has 5 holes, the middle hole matching your measurement.
Can I get a matching lead?
Yes — matching puppy leads are available in the same colour.
How is this different from a pet shop puppy collar?
This is individually made in a UK saddlery to your puppy’s exact neck size. Not manufactured in bulk, not adjustable nylon — a proper first collar that will last through the puppy stage and beyond.

Using a flexible tape measure*, measure the circumference of your dog's neck where the collar is normally worn. The tape measure should fit comfortably around the neck without being too lapse or too tight – it should be a snug but a comfortable fit. The measurement you get is the "neck size" to use when ordering collars. Please choose the EXACT CIRCUMFERENCE of your dog's neck NOT the total length of the collar you require.
(* please note that if you don't have a flexible tape measure you can use a piece of string/ribbon or similar to measure your dog's neck and then measure this against a tape/ruler)
Each collar is made from two layers of gorgeously soft cowhide which are machine stitched together. They are then securely rivetted around strong chromed steel fittings.
To keep your collar looking fresh, simply wipe over with a slightly damp cloth and then dry.
