The Grey Bobble Fleece Deluxe Slumber Dog Bed by Danish Design is a high-sided bolster bed made in the UK, filled with 100% recycled fibre and dressed in a beautifully soft cable-knit sherpa fleece in warm grey. If your dog loves to curl up against something cosy, rest their chin on a padded wall, or simply burrow into something soft at the end of a long day, this is the bed they have been waiting for.
Made in Leeds, Yorkshire by Danish Design — a family-run British pet bed company founded in 1981 with Scandinavian design heritage — the Grey Bobble Slumber Bed brings together practical UK manufacturing and considered design. The sherpa fleece outer is knitted in the UK and creates a distinctive bobble texture that looks great in any home. Paired with a smooth faux suede base panel, it offers warmth and comfort in equal measure.
The filling is made from 100% recycled PET fibre — produced by shredding plastic bottles, cleansing them, and heating the material to form a soft, fluffy fibre. Every bed uses this recycled filling throughout the high bolster walls and the central mattress, diverting thousands of plastic bottles from landfill each year. The filling is fire retardant to British Standard 5852, giving you confidence that the bed meets recognised UK safety standards.
Is the Grey Bobble Slumber Bed machine washable?
Yes. The whole bed can be washed together in your washing machine. The central mattress is also removable if you just need a quick wash between full cleans. The polyester fibre filling does not absorb water, so the bed dries quickly — leave it somewhere warm and it will be ready again in no time.
What size Grey Bobble Slumber Bed does my dog need?
The bed is available in three sizes. The 24" (61cm) is ideal for Cocker Spaniels, Beagles and similar medium-small breeds. The 30" (76cm) works well for Springer Spaniels, Border Collies and medium dogs. The 35" (89cm) fits Labradors, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds comfortably. When in doubt, size up — dogs love a bed they can really settle into.
Is this bed suitable for puppies?
Yes. The soft, high sides create a cosy, den-like space and give young dogs something to lean against. Just make sure the bed size is appropriate for your puppy's expected adult size — a slightly larger bed now will last longer as they grow.
Is a high-sided bolster bed good for dogs who like to curl up?
Yes. The raised sides give your dog something to lean against and rest their chin on, and they block draughts while your dog sleeps.
What is the Grey Bobble fleece made from?
The outer sherpa fleece is knitted in the UK using a soft, fluffy fibre that creates the signature bobble cable-knit effect. It is extremely soft to the touch and hard-wearing enough for daily use.

I ordered 2 dog beds in readiness for our new puppy. Sadly the item we ordered bares no resemblance at all to the bed in the photograph. After a few days investigation I was advised that they no longer make the bed in the style advertised and was offered a refund. With out imminent puppy arrival it was too late so reluctantly kept them. I was prepared to give the benefit of the doubt but you’re still selling the beds with the wrong photo which is a poor show.
Hi Faye, thanks for your review. We wanted to point out that the bed is indeed the same bed as pictured and the same style, but occasionally because it is knitted from “bobbly” Sherpa fleece, hence the name “Bobble”, it can sometimes be more fluffy when made than a previous batch. We have placed images of the more “bobbly” bed as well as the bed which is less “bobbly” in natural light and in a studio with lighting, In this scenario, you can see the cable stitch around the middle quite easily. We have said that if the more “bobbly” bed is not to your liking we will collect it from you and refund you in full. Please understand though that we need to keep all scenarios of the bed (artificial lighting and natural lighting, more bobbly and less bobbly) as that is the nature of the material that the bed is made with. We hope that your new pup is happy as the bed is indeed a winner with smaller dogs who like to snuggle up. x
