The Bowmore Navy Slumber Dog Bed by Danish Design is a high-sided bolster bed combining a soft brushed wool-effect navy check fabric with a luxurious boucle loop-knit mattress — made in the UK and filled with 100% recycled fibre from plastic bottles. Rich in texture and beautifully detailed, this is a bed that rewards a closer look.

The Bowmore collection pairs two complementary fabric textures for a sumptuously snug feel. The outer sides are made from a brushed wool-effect check in rich navy with tan highlights — soft, warm and country in spirit. The base mattress uses a two-sided creamy off-white and petrol blue-grey boucle fabric — a looped-knit textile normally associated with premium furniture, used here for its softness and durability. Both fabrics are made at Danish Design’s Leeds factory, part of a family-run British company operating since 1981.

The filling in the high bolster sides and central mattress is 100% recycled PET fibre — made by shredding plastic bottles, cleansing and heating the material, and processing it into a soft, fluffy thermal fibre. The filling is fire retardant to British Standard 5852. The polyester fibre does not absorb water, so the bed dries quickly after washing.

Is the Bowmore Navy Slumber Bed machine washable?
Yes. Both the bed and the mattress can be machine washed on a cool wash. The mattress is removable for quicker cleaning. The boucle and checked fabrics hold their texture and colour through regular washing.

What sizes are available?
The Bowmore Navy bed comes in three sizes: Small 24″ (61cm), Medium 30″ (76cm) and Large 35″ (89cm). The 24″ is well suited to Cocker Spaniels, Beagles and smaller dogs. The 30″ works for Springer Spaniels, Whippets and medium breeds. The 35″ comfortably fits Labradors, Golden Retrievers and similar large breeds.

Is the Bowmore design also available in another colour?
