The 3-in-1 Dog Coat in Navy by Danish Design is one of the most versatile and well-designed dog coats available in the UK — a three-layer system that works as a waterproof outer coat, a soft fleece inner coat, or both together, depending on the weather. Made in the UK by a family-run Yorkshire company that has been producing dog wear since 1981, it is built around the reality that British weather changes fast and your dog’s coat needs to keep up.

The outer layer is a waterproof ripstop shell in navy — water-resistant, windproof and tough enough for daily use in all weathers. The inner layer is a soft sherpa fleece that can be worn alone on dry, cold days. The two layers attach together via zip and poppers for full waterproof insulated coverage when both are needed. A harness hole in the back means the coat is compatible with harnesses — you do not need to remove the coat to attach a lead.

Made to fit a range of breeds from XS through to XXXL. The Danish Design sizing system measures back length — always measure your dog from the base of the neck to the base of the tail for the correct fit.

Is the 3-in-1 coat actually waterproof?
Yes. The outer shell is made from waterproof ripstop fabric — it keeps dogs dry in rain and repels mud splash. For very prolonged exposure, re-proofing the outer with a DWR spray every season will maintain peak performance.

Can I use just the fleece inner on dry days?
Yes. The fleece inner is a fully wearable coat in its own right — ideal for cold, dry days when waterproofing is not needed. It attaches to the outer for full 3-in-1 coverage when the weather demands it.

Does it work with a harness?
Yes. There is a harness access hole in the back so you can attach a lead to your dog’s harness without removing the coat. This is a genuinely useful feature that cheaper coats rarely include.

What sizes are available?
XS through XXXL. Danish Design uses back length measurement — measure from the base of your dog’s neck to the base of the tail. The size guide on the product page shows which back length corresponds to which size for popular breeds.
