How to choose the perfect collar

Which one is right for your dog? We have three designs — from the smallest pup to the fully grown large dog.

Puppy & Fragile Neck

Our Soft Puppy collar is our lightest — made from two layers of soft cowhide leather. Extremely gentle and flexible, perfect for a puppy getting used to their very first collar, and for small fragile-necked breeds that need a lightweight collar for life, such as Yorkshire Terriers, miniature Dachshunds, Chihuahuas and Miniature Schnauzers. From 8" necks.

Small Dog & Larger Pups

Our Soft Padded Puppy & Small Dog collar is soft leather padded with cowhide, creating rounded edges and a slightly thicker, stronger collar — yet still very flexible. Ideal for muscular-breed puppies (for example Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Labrador pups) and for small adult dogs like Dachshunds. From 9" necks.

Adult Dog Collar

Our Adult Padded collar is cut from cow shoulder leather for real strength, with a soft cowhide interior for comfort. Designed for adult dogs with strong, muscular necks over 13" — breeds like Labradors and Golden Retrievers. Not suitable for necks smaller than 13", or for fragile-necked breeds — try our Soft Padded Puppy & Small Dog collar for smaller sturdy dogs, or our Soft Puppy collar for fragile necks.

Handmade leather dog collars
Our leather dog collars are handmade in Britain from quality full-grain leather with soft padding for everyday comfort. Choose from soft leather, strong padded and puppy styles in a range of widths and colour combinations — and because each collar is made to your dog’s neck size, the fit is spot on.
Leather dog collar FAQs
How do I measure my dog for a leather collar? Measure around the neck where the collar naturally sits, add a little room for comfort, and order that neck size — we make the collar to fit.
Are your leather collars handmade? Yes — they’re handmade in Britain from quality leather, with solid metal fittings and padded designs for comfort.
Which collar width should I choose? Wider widths suit larger, stronger dogs; narrower widths suit puppies and smaller breeds. Each collar lists its available widths.
