Made in Leeds, Yorkshire by Danish Design — a family-run company founded in 1981 with Scandinavian design roots — this bed brings together durable UK manufacturing and thoughtful design. The sherpa fleece used on this bed is knitted in the UK and provides a soft, warm surface that dogs instinctively gravitate towards. The entire filling — in the high, padded bolster walls and the removable central mattress — is made from 100% recycled PET fibre. Plastic bottles are shredded, cleansed, heated and processed into a soft, fluffy thermal fibre at Danish Design’s Leeds factory. The filling is fire retardant to British Standard 5852. The polyester fibre does not absorb water, making the bed quick to dry after washing.

Is the Charcoal Arrows Slumber Bed machine washable?
Yes. The whole bed is machine washable. The central mattress is removable if you only need a quick clean. After washing, the bed dries quickly because the filling does not retain water — leave it in a warm spot and it will be ready to use again the same day.

What size do I need for my dog?
The bed comes in five sizes. The 18″ (45cm) suits toy breeds including Chihuahuas, Miniature Dachshunds and Toy Poodles. The 24″ (61cm) is ideal for Cocker Spaniels, West Highland Terriers and Beagles. The 30″ (76cm) works for Springer Spaniels, Border Collies and Whippets. The 35″ (89cm) fits Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Boxers and Standard Poodles. The 40″ (101cm) is for Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Weimaraners and larger breeds.

Is sherpa fleece durable enough for a dog bed?
Yes. The sherpa fleece used on Danish Design beds is a knitted fabric specifically chosen for durability as well as softness. It is designed to keep its appearance and texture through repeated washing, unlike cheap fleece that can bobble or shed quickly.
