Donut bed Sizes

Allow for the cushioned sides of the bed when selecting a size, dogs sleep inside these by being curled up inside or resting their head over the side support, sometimes they push their legs straight, the bed changes shape with them. Measure with this in mind. If your dog is in between sizes, we advise you to take the larger size (measurements are taken from the reverse of the bed)

XS – 50cm – For toy breeds and very small dogs: Yorkshire terrier, Chihuahua, Mini Dachshund. (approx. less than 4.5kg)

S – 60cm – For Small dogs: Dachshunds, Maltese, Jack Russell, Pug, Westie, Cairn terriers, King Charles (approx. less than 10kg, curled up diameter = approx 36cm)

M – 70cm – Small/ Medium dogs: Beagles, Cocker Spaniel (small), French bulldog (Curled up diameter = approx 45cm)

L – 80cm – Medium/Large dogs: Small Labradors, Collies (Curled up diameter of dog = approx 54cm)

XL – 100cm – Large dogs For larger dogs (Larger Collie's, Large spaniels, Labradors...we also recommend a deep-filled mattress style bed with a medium/large luxury faux fur blanket on it. This is due to the ease of washing the covers and blanket in a normal machine.

Care instructions

Can be washed in the machine on a 30 degree delicates wash and spin. Once out of the machine give the bed a good shake and dry naturally. Manipulate the stuffing whilst drying, every few hours. Give the bed a good shake once dry.

They will stay fabulously soft time after time.

These beds should be kept away from heat. Do not tumble dry.

Can be dry cleaned. For larger beds we recommend dry cleaning.

Donut bed filling - good to know!

The beds are deeply stuffed. This means they are suitable for all dogs. With use, the padding will sink slightly as it becomes more compressed. For this reason the beds arrive very full to counteract this and always provide a deeply stuffed and comfortable bed. A shake will fluff the bed up every now and again and after washing. If your dog is light, you may want to press the bed down slightly so they sink in quicker. Alternatively if you want it much more "squidgy" rather than stuffed, let us know in a note at checkout. The beds are made to order so we can take out some stuffing if required.

The Chelsea Frost Supreme Faux Fur Calming Donut Dog Bed is designed by The Stylish Dog Company — one of the most striking beds in the range. A two-tone design that pairs the warm, softly blurred cocoa and cream Chelsea fur on the raised donut sides and rim with a cool ivory frost interior on the sleeping base. The contrast between the warm outer bolster and the cool pale centre makes this bed genuinely beautiful to look at, while the sleeping experience for your dog is the same deeply plush, enveloping comfort throughout. Available in five sizes XS to XL.

Both the Chelsea bolster fur and the ivory frost interior pile are approximately 2.5cm long — dense, chinchilla-soft and deeply stuffed. The entire surface your dog touches is faux fur, inside and out. The well-stuffed raised sides provide natural head and neck support while creating the enclosed, den-like shape that settles anxious dogs. The non-slip faux suede base is colour-matched and keeps the bed firmly in place.

Why do dogs sleep better in a donut bed? The raised 360-degree rim creates a sense of gentle enclosure that mimics the security a dog experiences sleeping curled against its mother and litter mates. This physical cue — being surrounded rather than exposed — encourages slower breathing, lower stress responses and deeper sleep. It works for puppies finding their feet in a new home, for rescue dogs needing an anchor point, and for any dog that naturally seeks out a corner or a nest to curl into.

What size Chelsea Frost bed do I need? XS (50cm) for toy breeds — Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, Mini Dachshund. L (80cm) for medium and larger dogs including smaller Labradors and Collies. XL (100cm) for larger breeds. Measure your dog curled up and allow for the cushioned bolster sides.

Is it machine washable? Yes. The whole bed washes at 30 degrees on a cool delicate cycle. Dry naturally — no tumble dryer. Manipulate the stuffing while it dries, shake when done, and it comes up perfectly soft again.
