The Fleece Check Slumber Dog Bed by Danish Design x FatFace is a warm, high-sided bolster bed in blue and grey tones, made in the UK and filled with 100% recycled fibre. Featuring a snuggly brushed cotton check design from FatFace — with tones of blue and a highlight of mustard — paired with a soft dark grey sherpa fleece knitted in the UK from 100% recycled fibres, this is a bed that delivers real warmth alongside genuine sustainability.

The FatFace x Danish Design partnership was built on shared values: sustainable materials, UK manufacturing, and products built to last. The Fleece Check design uses brushed cotton printed on 100% FatFace cotton supporting sustainable farming practices. The sherpa fleece paired with it is knitted in the UK from recycled fibre. The whole bed is made at Danish Design’s Leeds factory and filled throughout with 100% recycled PET fibre from plastic bottles.

The bolster sides and central mattress are filled with 100% recycled PET fibre, fire retardant to British Standard 5852. The brushed cotton outer gives the bed an extra layer of softness, and the grey sherpa fleece underside adds warmth and cosiness. The polyester fibre filling does not absorb water, so the bed dries quickly after machine washing.

Is the Fleece Check Slumber Bed machine washable?
Yes. The complete bed is machine washable. The central mattress is removable for quick interim washes. The brushed cotton and sherpa fleece both maintain their texture and softness through repeated washing.

What size do I need?
Five sizes are available. The 18″ (45cm) suits Toy Poodles, Chihuahuas and small Terriers. The 24″ (61cm) is ideal for Cocker Spaniels, Pugs and Beagles. The 30″ (76cm) works for Springer Spaniels, Whippets and medium dogs. The 35″ (89cm) fits Labradors, Retrievers and Standard Poodles. The 40″ (101cm) is for large breeds including German Shepherds and Weimaraners.

Is this bed particularly warm?
Yes. The combination of brushed cotton outer, UK-knitted sherpa fleece, and well-padded high bolster sides makes this one of the warmest beds in the Danish Design range. It is an excellent choice for the colder months, for dogs that feel the cold, or for dogs sleeping in cooler areas of the home.

Is this bed good for a dog that likes to nest?
Absolutely. The deep, padded sides are perfect for dogs that like to circle before they lie down, push their nose into corners, or curl up tightly. The bolster walls give something solid and warm to press against.
